A MESSAGE...

A terrifying culture is coming at our youth like a raging freight train. What is the cargo on this train? The normalcy of things once thought of as dangerous: Drugs, alcohol, addiction in all forms, depression, anxiety, etc. They don’t see it coming and we, their families, don’t know how to stop it. What can we do?

Armed to Know is a group of passionate and concerned individuals focused on educating families on the physical and emotional struggles our youth are experiencing. We sponsor 4 community events each year for youth ages 5th-12th grade and their parents. Each event covers a different topic. Our content is science based with no political or religious undertones. We utilize professional resources from the community, conduct teen and parent breakouts and fly in dynamic and engaging keynote speakers from around the country who are experts in their field.

Our first event was in February of 2018 and covered the topic of Substance Abuse. We had over 200 youth and parents in attendance with presentations from local police and health professionals. Our second event was held 3 months later in May addressing the topic of Self Worth and the effects of Social Media. Over 400 people were in attendance. Fight the New Drug presented at our third event in October, educating on the science and harmful effects of Pornography. Close to 500 people were in attendance. We are definitely filling a need in our community as our numbers continue to increase with each event.

Our events have provided not only education, but a sense of community. They have created a unique space where parents and youth are educated together. This has initiated important conversations that help families identify, understand and respond to today's challenges.

We are currently planning and securing speakers for our 2019/2020 season on topics such as Stress, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Sexual Abuse. Join us! We’d love to see you at our next Armed to Know event!
